Ramadan Day 4: Mastering Your Temper While Fasting
Day 4: Fasting Is More Than Hunger 😤
“Whoever does not give up false speech and evil actions, Allah does not need his hunger and thirst” (Bukhari).
The problem: Fasting from food but NOT from anger, gossip, or harsh words.
The solution: The COMPLETE fast — tongue, eyes, ears, and heart!
The Tongue Fast
Abstain from:
– ❌ Lying
– ❌ Gossip (Ghibah)
– ❌ Arguing
– ❌ Cursing
– ❌ Harsh words
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Fasting is a shield. When fasting, avoid obscene speech and ignorance. If someone fights you, say: ‘I am fasting.’” (Bukhari)
Your shield phrase: “Inni sa’im” — “I am fasting!” (Say it twice!)
The Eyes Fast
Lower your gaze — from haram, from screens, from distractions.
Ramadan is the month to break bad visual habits!
The Ears Fast
Avoid:
– Backbiting sessions
– Music (if you avoid it)
– Useless talk
Replace with: Quran recitation, Islamic lectures!
Anger Management (Ramadan Edition)
When angry while fasting:
1. Say “A’udhu billahi minash-shaytanir-rajim”
2. Say “Inni sa’im” (I am fasting)
3. Make Wudu (anger is from fire, water extinguishes!)
4. Sit down (if standing) or lie down (if sitting)
5. Walk away — don’t engage!
Day 4 Checklist
- [ ] Fast (with tongue, eyes, ears!)
