Ramadan Day 5: The Virtue of Feeding Others
Day 5: Feed a Fasting Person, Get Their Reward! 🍽️
“Whoever provides Iftar for a fasting person gets the same reward, without diminishing theirs” (Tirmidhi).
The problem: Thinking you can only earn ONE fast’s reward per day.
The solution: Feed others — multiply your rewards!
The Math of Feeding
You fast: 1 reward
You feed 1 person: +1 reward (total: 2!)
You feed 10 people: +10 rewards (total: 11!)
You feed 30 days: Unlimited!
This is the Ramadan multiplier — use it!
How to Feed (Practical Ideas)
1. Family Iftar
Cook extra — invite relatives, neighbors!
2. Masjid Iftar
Donate to your masjid’s Iftar program ($5-10 feeds one person!).
3. Poor Families
Iftar boxes — dates, water, meal ($10-15 per family!).
4. Workers/Strangers
Laborers, drivers, guards — they often break fast alone. Include them!
What to Provide
Simple Iftar:
– Dates (Sunnah!)
– Water
– A hot meal (rice, curry, bread)
Cost: $3-5 per person (in most countries)!
$150 = feed 30-50 people = 30-50 extra fasts’ reward!
The Iftar Dua (When Breaking Fast)
“Dhahabaz-zama’u wabtallatil-urooqu wa thabatal-ajru insha’Allah.”
“Thirst is gone, veins are moistened, and reward is confirmed, if Allah wills.”
Also: “Allahumma inni laka sumtu wa bika amantu…”
Your dua at Iftar is ANSWERED — don’t waste it!
