Ramadan Day 3: The Power of Suhoor

Day 3: Don’t Skip Suhoor! 🌅

Suhoor (pre-dawn meal) is blessed — the Prophet ﷺ said: “Take Suhoor, for in it there is blessing” (Bukhari).

The problem: Skipping Suhoor to “sleep more.”

The solution: Suhoor = energy + blessing + Sunnah!

Why Suhoor Matters

1. Blessing (Barakah)

Divine blessing in the food and time!

2. Energy

Fuels your 15-hour fast!

3. Sunnah

The Prophet ﷺ never skipped it!

4. Distinction

Distinguishes our fast from others’ (Muslim)!

What to Eat (Best Suhoor Foods)

Food Why
Oats Slow-release energy
Eggs Protein (sustained!)
Dates Sunnah + quick energy
Yogurt Protein + hydration
Water 2-3 glasses (hydration!)
Bananas Potassium (prevents cramps)

Avoid: Salty foods (thirst!), sugary cereals (crash!), caffeine (dehydration!).

The Suhoor Dua

Before eating: Bismillah
After: Alhamdulillah
Intention: “I intend to fast tomorrow for Allah”

Last 10 minutes: Make DUA! (Pre-dawn is answered!)

Timing

Sunnah: Delay Suhoor until just before Fajr!
Stop: At true dawn (Fajr Adhan).
The Prophet ﷺ: The gap between his Suhoor and Fajr was ~50 verses (Bukhari) — about 15-20 minutes!
