Ramadan Day 9: Charity — The Ramadan Multiplier

Day 9: Give Like There’s No Tomorrow 💰

“The Prophet ﷺ was the most generous, and most generous in Ramadan” (Bukhari).

The problem: Giving randomly, without plan.

The solution: Systematic Ramadan charity — daily, weekly, and strategic!

Why Ramadan Charity?

1. Multiplied Rewards

Every deed in Ramadan is multiplied (70× per hadith)!
$1 in Ramadan = $70 outside!

2. The Prophet’s ﷺ Example

“More generous than the wind” in Ramadan (Bukhari).
Follow him!

3. Purification

Zakat al-Fitr purifies your fast!
Sadaqah purifies wealth!

The Ramadan Charity Plan

Daily ($1-5/day)

  • $1/day = $30/month (anyone can do this!)
  • Give to different causes daily
  • Automate (set up daily donations!)

Weekly ($20-50/week)

  • Masjid donation
  • Food for poor families
  • Iftar sponsorship

Strategic (One-time)

  • Zakat (if due — calculate it!)
  • Zakat al-Fitr ($10-15 per person, before Eid!)
  • Major cause (well, masjid, orphan)

Creative Giving Ideas

  1. Iftar meals — $5 feeds one person!
  2. Quran — donate Mushafs ($5 each!)
  3. Water — dig a well ($500-1000, share with friends!)
  4. Knowledge — sponsor a student’s learning!
  5. Debt relief — pay someone’s debt (huge reward!)

Zakat Reminder

If you haven’t calculated Zakat:
– 2.5% of savings (held 1 lunar year, above Nisab)
– Nisab: ~$400-500 (or 85g gold)
– Give in Ramadan (multiplied!)
